Sunday December 1^st [1861]

I went to church last night with Sister & Buddy. Mr Sherwood preached his first sermon as regular pastor of our church. Mr Sherwood preached this morning. His text was “for I determine to know nothing among you save Jesus Christ.” I came home to dinner. Mr. Sherwood preached from Matthew 18^th Chapter from the 5^th to 9^th verse. I went to the Baptist church to hear Mill Leillias play but she was not there.
