Dear brother I take my pen in hand to inform you that I am well hoping thies fiew lines may reach and finde you injoying good health Dear brother
I rescievd you letter and was glad to heir from you that you was gitting wel we air orderd to richmond and I expect that we will go to moraw give my love to all of the famaly tell them to write to me for I want to heir from all of them very bad I have nothing of importance only we have to go to richmond and I dont want to go thair for I excpect that we will loose a heap of men but we cant help that we have got to fight that is true but we must trust in god at this time for this is the time to trust to him and I hope that he will be with us for [this] is the time that we want help if we ever did So I must come to a close by asking you to write soon and fail knot So nothing more only I remain your true brother untel death Charley Futch
