Take two cups of butter, two cups of molasses, a cup of sugar, a teaspoonful of soda dissolved in four tablespoonfuls of milk, and two tablespoonfuls of ginger. Add flour to make it stiff enough to roll out. Then roll out very thick on buttered tin sheets. Mark into squares and bake in a quick oven.
