Friday 19th [February 1864]
I received a letter from Harrie this morning. He is not so well. I am sorry to hear it. He has had erysipalus in the head. I have not heard from Pinck in two weeks. I expected a letter from him. I hope my child is well. Nothing from Mr. Henry since he left. ‘Tis rumored the yanks have left Knoxville. I hope ‘tis so. Warmer today than the two last days. Very cold yesterday & Wednesday. Ice ½ inch thick in the room & ice all day on the wash stand.
