Wednesday 7th [October 1863]
Made another shirt today & attended to the pots some, they get on slowly making molasses. Atheline & Matt spooling today. Very cool & frosty mornings. Too cold for my little ones to be barefooted, if I could help it. The negroes have no shoes yet.
